Cowboy means far more than a man riding a horse, driving a heard of cattle across the plains. "Cowboy" embodies the Old West, from Texas to Montana and all points west, and everything that this entails. It conjures up thoughts of a type of lifestyle, an era, romance, danger, boots, saddles, six-guns, wagons, wild saloons...and yet a gentler and nostalgic way of living. Most of what we think about cowboys has passed into history, a vanishing breed, but above all, the independence and freedom of the cowboy remains as the essential qualities we cherish yet today.
